Gruelling and arduous, Dusi Canoe Marathon is arguably one of the world’s biggest canoe races in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Started in the 1950s, the race attracts over 1600 racers but it was not until 1981 that black paddlers were legally allowed to participate.
