KOLOFATA, CAMEROON – Cameroon’s military has taken back control of the border village of Ashigashia from the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram, which had occupied it for close to three weeks. As many as 10,000 Cameroonians and Nigerians have fled the fighting this week, taking refuge in schools in Kolofata and Mora in North Cameroon. Local authorities say the area is on the brink of a humanitarian crisis.
