MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Nigerian soldiers say they have killed at least 50 Boko Haram Islamic extremists who stormed a northeast Nigerian military base.
The Defense Ministry said six soldiers including the commanding officer died while repelling the attack on the military base Friday, which witnesses say involved hundreds of extremists.
