Air Namibia has suspended its Managing Director, Theo Namases, late Monday afternoon. Also suspended alongside Namases is the company’s General Manager for Airport Services, Nokokure ‘Noks’ Katjiuongua.
Air Namibia board member and chairperson of the company’s board human resources committee, Tim Ekandjo, issued a statement this morning, confirming the suspensions.
Ekandjo said the company confirms that the Air Namibia Board of Directors have resolved to, with immediate effect, suspend Namases and Katjiuongua, as of 16 June 2014 (Monday).
Ekandjo’s statement indicates that the suspension took place to allow for the airline to conclude and finalise ongoing investigations. Apparently, it should not suggest that the two managers have been found guilty of anything…
