A 46-year-old man linked to a business burglary at a local farm in Thabazimbi has been remanded in police custody following his appearance at the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 8, 2026.

The suspect was apprehended in Lephalale after being spotted driving a white Nissan bakkie along Jan Lee Street. Law enforcement identified the vehicle as the one used in the commission of last week’s crime through surveillance footage captured at the Thabazimbi farm.

During the investigation, the suspect allegedly confirmed that he was hired to carry out the burglary by an unidentified male who was previously employed at a private game reserve. The suspect further stated that a total of four individuals were involved in the heist.

Police are currently searching for the remaining three male suspects, who remain at large.
