Support Steve Hofmeyr against festivals that boycott him OR…

This year “I will test the political waters” said the Afrikaans singer and activist Steve Hofmeyr following the uproar because he sang the national anthem, “Die stem” “The call of South Africa” at festivals.

If Afrikaners attend festivals that boycott Steve, he will back down “from the debate” and not rise up for “our interests”, he wrote on social media.

If festivals are attended where he is not welcome because he sang “Die stem” there, he’s doing all this “for nothing.” He continued: “I cannot place the safety of my family, my career, and our survival on the cultural altar if my work is not taken seriously.”

Should they still be listening to some radio stations despite the fact that they boycotted his CD because of “a verse of the most beautiful national anthem ever” then he will “stop to openly represent the Afrikaners.”
