Firearm misfiring during farm attack saves farmer’s life

On Sunday, December 18, a farmer Solly Ferreira escaped from being killed or seriously injured when a black male attacked him on his farm situated in the Sekhukhune District, Elias Motsoaledi Municipality, Groblersdal, Limpopo.

Solly went outside to check his tobacco ovens when a suspect surprised him and pointed a firearm at him. The suspect fired a shot but the gun misfired giving Solly a chance to escape. The suspect fired another two shots but missed and fled.

Solly activated the alarm for assistance and the farming community together with the local police reacted to the incident. A search for the suspect ended when the tracks on the road were no longer visible.

The police are investigating the incident and the search for the suspect continues.
