Land claim stop electricity generating project

Front National South Africa learned with disgust about a land claim submitted for the farm Alkmaar, the property of Mr Charl Senekal in KwaZulu Natal. Supporters of Front National might remember that mr Senekal assisted us earlier this year to expose the Duncan Nyawo-hike as fraudulent, in particular Nyawo’s claims that he grew up on the farm of mr Senekal’s brother who, according to Nyawo and his sponsors, were murdered in a farm attack along with his entire household. This, like other claims, later proved to be false.

Mr Senekal produces 3% of all the sugar consumed in South Africa. He was busy building an electricity generating plant to the cost of R1,1 milliard of which he already spent R30 million on. This plant would burn the rests of sugar cane processing thereby generating 16,5 MW electricity which could help solve the electricity supply crisis in the country and curb the constant blackouts and load shedding. Above all, 400 job opportunities would be created.

Quite understandably mr Senekal immediately suspended the entire project. Examples such as Krynaauwslust and Zebediela serves as a clear warning of how prospering farms and economically productive agricultural units turn into garbage dumps within months after successful land claims. Why would you therefore turn over a well developed farm with an electricity generating plant to people with no other aim than to steal land under protection of the law. Mr Senekal confirms that he, even if the land claim is not successful, does not intend to carry on with the electricity plant idea.

Typical of what we have seen time and again, we once again witness the complete incapability to understand the link between action and consequence. In the end is just so much easier to blame the white man for unemployment and apartheid for the lack of electricity.

We are delighted to hear that mr Senekal proposes to resist the claim and we pledge our full support wherever FN might be able to assist in securing his property.
