Thirty five people have been injured after three taxis collided on the M4 South bound just after Quality Street in Durban on Friday evening around 6:30pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on scene to find that three taxis had collided in the fast lane of the busy freeway. Two people were entrapped in one of the vehicles and fire department was called to assist as well as more ambulances due to the number of patients injured. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise all of the injured including the two entrapped before using multiple ambulances to transport the injured through to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the three taxis to collide into each other however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
