Hijacker and victim end up at the same hospital

A hijacker was arrested after he arrived at the same hospital as his victim for treatment.

“The Chatsworth police arrested the 28-year-old man on March 24, 2015 at a local hospital.” Said Colonel Jay Naicker, KwaZulu-Natal police spokesman.

Three suspects allegedly approached the 24-year-old victim in Crossmoor and threatened him with guns. They attempted to hijack his vehicle. “He fought back, and the men eventually fled on foot,” said Naicker. “The man was injured during the attack and the suspects had left him right there on the scene.”

The victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries. “While he was at the hospital, one of the suspects also arrived for medical treatment,” said Naicker. “He immediately informed the police and a 28-year-old man was arrested on charges of attempted hijacking.”

The man will appear in the Chatsworth Magistrates court.

Police are still looking for two other suspects.

Lieutenant General. Mmamonye Ngobeni, provincial police commissioner, praised the police for their quick action. “We will make sure that his accomplices are arrested,” she said.
