Nigel police confirmed that Jeanette and Johan Meyer were on Sunday, February 26 around 06H30 attacked by three suspects on their farm Rietpoort.
Jeanette (54) was assaulted by the suspects and tied up. Johan (58) was shot in the head.
The police, community security, and emergency services responded to the incident.
Johan was admitted to a Benoni hospital and is in a critical condition.
