Front National to approach UN on self-determination and discriminatory practices in SA

Front National to take the struggle for self determination and the end of discriminatory practices in South Africa to the United Nations.

The profile for Front National SA has been accepted in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs’ (DESA) Civil Society database. This system provides access to addresses and contacts of thousands of other members, activities and meeting participation and it also facilitates the application procedure for consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). (Which we are currently in the process of doing).

DESA has also developed The Civil Society Network, a web portal devoted to promote best practices between the United Nations and members of the United Nations agencies. This portal gives users the opportunity to publish news and to engage and moderate discussion forums. It facilitates online pre-registration to UN conferences open for civil society participation and allows for submission of NGO statements to the Economic and Social Council.

Daniel Lötter (Head of Information FN) and Lenel Wessels (Foreign Liaison) have been registered as our representatives with the UN.

FNSA has also applied to the UN for IPO (Indigenous Peoples Organisation) status which will, if successful, allow us to participate at the 14th session of the Permanent Forum of Indigenous Issues. Our application was accepted and is in progress.
