Mr. Karel van der Merwe was shot by black intruders and his son Leon van der Merwe 21 was attacked the next day on Friday afternoon.
Karel sat at the hospital with his son the entire night and waited for him to be treated. He is a gentle man but we could see the heartache and tiredness on his face.
Leon is doing okay but was very shaken up from the ordeal.
