Two of four suspects were arrested on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in the early morning hours after they attacked a farmhouse in the Oranjeville area in the Free State.

Sgt. Sellwane Mapamela, police spokesman, told Maroela Media a man and his wife were asleep in the house when four suspects tried to break in.

“The man woke up while the suspects were busy to break open the front door. He was armed and fired a warning shot when he saw the suspects, “said Mapamela.” The suspects began shooting at him and he returned fire, after which they fled.”

The police were called and two suspects, 32 and 43 years old respectively, were arrested on the farm. Both were wounded. The police seized two firearms found in their possession.

The two suspects that escaped was still at large Wednesday morning and the search for them continues.

The Oranjeville police are investigating the case.
