On February 28, 2015 at approximately 04:11 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a residence in Esenembe, KwaZulu Natal, after receiving reports of a house robbery.
Upon arrival at the residence Officers were informed that three armed suspects forcefully gained entry into the home and severely assaulted a couple with the butt of a firearm while their daughter hid in the bedroom. The suspects ransacked the home and stole a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash. A neighbour was alerted to the robbery after he heard the victims screaming for help. He fired warning shots from his residence when the suspects fled the scene on foot.
Reaction Officers searched the area for the suspects however no arrests were made.
