Armed robbery at service station

On July 26, 2015 at about 19:00 numerous customers entered the shop at the service station. All seemed to be in order and the Drift Reaction cc security officer on duty was at the door keeping a close eye on the customers.

Two men came walking past him when one stopped right next to him and produced a firearm. The suspect cocked the firearm and told the security officer to stand still and keep quiet. Six other men already inside the shop then produced firearms. They cleaned out the tills and also demanded the cell phones and wallets from the customers. The security officer slowly put his hand in his pocket and pressed the panic button.

The Iron Fist Squad, Flying Squad, SAPS TRT (Task Force) as well as Tactical units were dispatched. The suspects then ran out of the shop towards the N14 highway where a car was waiting for them. One of the customers had a tracking system in his cell phone and he started tracking the phone.

The Iron Fist Squad as well as Flying Squad found the phone lying in the veld just before the Pretoria West turn off. The phone was taken in as evidence as it had fingerprints on it. Luckily nobody was injured during the incident.
