ANC deception of wanting peaceful reconciliation and rebuilding

As predicted, the successful campaign by black students of the University of Cape Town for the removal of the statue of British Imperialist, Cecil John Rhodes, was not the end of the path of destruction taken by the black youth.

The latest is a call by the ANC Youth League for the removal of the statue of Boer president, Paul Kruger, from Church Square in the capitol city of his once renowned republic, Pretoria.

Both Kruger and Rhodes passed into history half a century before the term “apartheid” was even coined. Therefore one can reach only one conclusion being that South Africa is inevitably spiralling into an abyss of senseless destruction and vandalism where history is to be manipulated and racist schisms created between the ethnic groups.

One can hardly comprehend that the ANC can maintain the lie of wanting peaceful reconciliation and rebuilding, while back at the ranch all their Youth League wants to do is to alienate and stigmatise an entire nation of people and destroy their symbols of achievement.

If the ANC cannot (and we know they cannot) come up with achievements which merits a monument, then at least have the courtesy not to destroy ours.

The ANC Youth league might want to remember this: Post 1994 statues were erected to the barbaric mass murderer, Shaka, the insignificant chieftain Tshwane and a number of others. The white population never objected to this because we are quite prepared to accommodate the history and culture of the people we share this country with.

Kindly keep in mind though, it might be easy for you to pull down Cecil John Rhodes and Paul Kruger, but Shaka and Tswane can also come down….
